A LAB OF ONE’S OWN: SCIENCE & SUFFRAGE IN THE FIRST WORLD WAR
2018 marks a double centenary: peace was declared, and British women won the vote after decades of struggle. This talk commemorates both anniversaries by revealing the untold lives of female scientists, doctors and engineers who helped to win the War and change the future.
Dr Fara’s study of women scientists in the First World War was recently published by Oxford University Press, A Lab of one’s Own: Science and Suffrage in the First World War.
Her talk will take place in the Design School.
