The Great War Centenary Debate: has history been fair to General Haig?

Thursday 7th May sees the Charnwood Great War Centenary Project stage a debate on General Haig and his role in WW1. Was he really the butcher and bungler which history has deemed him?

Opposing the motion will be Dr Matthew S. Seligmann, MA, DPhil, FRHist, Reader in History at Brunel University, London. Dr Seligmann is one of the world’s leading academics on the subject of the navies of Britain and Germany pre-1914.
