Colours, Community and Chemistry – a Lancashire heritage project

18 January 2015

An afternoon of free events at the People’s History and National Museum, Spinningfields Manchester (on the Salford-Manchester border) curated by artist, author and former Loughborough University student Alison Boyle.

The People’s History and National Museum is off the main Deansgate shopping area in Manchester, fifteen minutes from Piccadilly train station and ten minutes from Victoria station.

The events are the culmination of a 17-week exhibition, Colours, Community and Chemistry, itself the result of  4 years of research into the experiences of  workers from the Northwest of England, Pakistan, India, the West Indies, Poland and many other countries who made artificial silk in a Lancashire factory.

Further information can be found on the project’s website or through the ‘What’s On’ tab on the People’s History Museum website.
