The Charley History group has researched the electronic war waged against the Luftwaffe from a field near Mount St Bernard Abbey.

In 1940-43 twelve young RAF Wireless Mechanics in a set of ad hoc sheds in that field waged a furious cat & dog electronic war with three types of target-finding beams and the Luftwaffe pilots who tried to follow them.
